Annual Benefit Golf Tournament

Golfers at the Annual Foundation Tournament

The Lenoir Memorial Foundation sponsors an annual “superball” golf tournament each May at Kinston Country Club. Proceeds are used exclusively for previously identified healthcare projects and services sponsored by the Foundation.

Initiated in 1999, this event has evolved into “the tournament you must play in” for hospital supporters, vendors and Kinston area golfers. Morning and afternoon shotgun starts are separated by an on-site luncheon for all participants.

Winners of the Annual Lenoir Memorial Foundation Golf Tournament

The tournament is well known for the quality of prizes awarded to first and second place winners in each flight of the morning and afternoon events. Clubs and irons reflecting the latest in golf club technology are awarded to the winners of closest to the pins on four par 3’s, and the longest and most accurate drives. A new car is usually awarded to any golfers getting a hole-in-one.  Winning the putt-off in each tournament can result in the winner taking home a $500 cash prize.

A brochure and entry form for the tournament is available online in early February. The tournament usually fills quickly and playing spots are filled on a first come basis. Anyone interested in being a sponsor or player in the tournament should contact the Foundation office at 252-522-7262 or email Brenda Canup at (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
